Hello! I'm Jorja, a self taught photographer who aspires to be a photojournalist. I picked up my first camera 10 years ago and haven't put it down since.

The permanence of a moment, or feeling, captured by the click of a shutter in the impermanence of life is what drew me into the art of photography.

I love being outdoors, and prefer to take mostly macro shots and landscape photos. The colors and patterns nature holds drives my passion more than any other subject. I find that flowers and mountains don't judge on how I choose to capture them.

I've also grown to love sports photography. The fast paced and spontaneous action keeps me on my toes and many of my best photographs have been sports shots.

I am an alumna UNC Asheville, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and minors in Religious Studies and Anthropology. I've worked on several publications including The Blue Banner, UNCA's newspaper, for three years as both a photography editor and multimedia editor, The Dispatch of Lexington, NC under their Chief Photographer and The Laurel of Asheville.
